Moreover, Paraguay emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in Latin America and the Caribbean, with a CAGR of +48.4% from 2013-2024. While the share of Mexico (+4 p.p.) and Paraguay (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the total imports from 2013-2024, the share of Brazil (-3.9 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($3B) constitutes the largest market for imported aluminium alloy plates, sheets and strip of thickness over 0.2 mm in Latin America and the Caribbean, comprising 71% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Brazil ($362M), with an 8.5% share of total imports. It was followed by Colombia, with a 3.8% share.
In Mexico, imports of aluminium alloy plates, sheets and strip of thickness over 0.2 mm expanded at an average annual rate of +10.5% over the period from 2013-2024. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Brazil (+2.8% per year) and Colombia (+11.8% per year).

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major importing countries. In 2024, major importing countries recorded the following prices: in Paraguay ($4,258 per ton) and Mexico ($4,100 per ton), while Brazil ($3,311 per ton) and Guatemala ($3,369 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

Total exports indicated buoyant growth from 2013 to 2024: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.2% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2024 figures, exports decreased by -0.9% against 2022 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 75%. Over the period under review, the exports of reached the maximum at 118K tons in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2022 an increase of 87% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $4,161 per ton. From 2023 to 2024, the export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major exporting countries. In 2024, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($3,375 per ton), while Mexico amounted to $2,550 per ton.
